200 NOTICES OF THE AMS VOLUME 52, NUMBER 2 Introduction A quiver is just a directed graph.1 Formally, a quiver is a pair Q = (Q0,Q1) where Q0 is a finite set of vertices and Q1 is a finite set of arrows between them. If a ∈ Q1 is an arrow, then ta and ha denote its tail and its head, respectively. Let us fix a quiver Q and a base field K. Attach a finite dimensional vector space to each vertex of Q and a linear map to each arrow (with the appropiate domain and codomain). Then this is called a representation of Q . Formally, a representation V of Q is a collection

A Universal Investigation of $n$-representations of $n$-quivers

noindent We have two goals in this paper. First, we investigate and construct cofree coalgebras over $n$-representations of quivers, limits and colimits of $n$-representations of quivers, and limits and colimits of coalgebras in the monoidal categories of $n$-representations of quivers. Second, for any given quivers $mathit{Q}_1$,$mathit{Q}_2$,..., $mathit{Q}_n$, we construct a new quiver $math...

CLUSTER ALGEBRAS AND CLUSTER CATEGORIES

These are notes from introductory survey lectures given at the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM), Teheran, in 2008 and 2010. We present the definition and the fundamental properties of Fomin-Zelevinsky’s cluster algebras. Then, we introduce quiver representations and show how they can be used to construct cluster variables, which are the canonical generator...

S ep 2 01 4 DIAGRAM AUTOMORPHISMS OF QUIVER VARIETIES

We show that the fixed-point subvariety of a Nakajima quiver variety under a diagram automorphism is a disconnected union of quiver varieties for the ‘split-quotient quiver’ introduced by Reiten and Riedtmann. As a special case, quiver varieties of type D arise as the connected components of fixed-point subvarieties of diagram involutions of quiver varieties of type A. In the case where the qui...

M ar 2 00 8 Smooth models of quiver moduli

For any moduli space of stable representations of quivers, certain smooth varieties, compactifying projective space fibrations over the moduli space, are constructed. The boundary of this compactification is analyzed. Explicit formulas for the Betti numbers of the smooth models are derived. In the case of moduli of simple representations, explicit cell decompositions of the smooth models are co...

Unitary and Euclidean Representations of a Quiver

A unitary (Euclidean) representation of a quiver is given by assigning to each vertex a unitary (Euclidean) vector space and to each arrow a linear mapping of the corresponding vector spaces. We recall an algorithm for reducing the matrices of a unitary representation to canonical form, give a certain description of the representations of canonical form, and reduce the problem of classifying Eu...
